Here's a photo of Herbert and Dina, maybe in the 1920's? The women are probably Dina's mother on the right of the photograph and her grandmother, Jeanette (Heidelburger) Wetzler and Hanna (unknown) Heidelburger. Note the photos above them, as well...

Herbert and Dina also had a son Manfred, my uncle, who died in 2012 at age 85, in Seattle, where his wife, eldest son Jeff and daughter Amy still live. His son Steve lives in Arizona. Mannie was a breast-cancer surviver- both he and my mom have the BRCA2 gene. I think it hit him in his 70's. My mom has been cancer-free.

When Mannie was a medical student, he was also a sperm donor. He was very open about this with his wife and children, and was clear in his wishes that he wanted to observe the privacy of the recipient families. His wife and kids continue to take this to heart and in early 2019, had some dismay that cousins were finding me on 23andMe, and expressed their wishes to not be contacted.

My mom is more receptive, but at age 90 finds it a bit too confusing. I'm happy to share some photos- the family resemblance is interesting. And I'm happy to get to know you.
